Motivation & Co

Motivation & Co provides professional services to care homes, with the sole objective of helping residents to maintain their physical and mental dexterity and ability. The Motivation & Co programme as it exists today provides specialist cognitive, evidence- based motivation through a combination of mental stimulation, exercises and games.

In 1997, Elaine Everett, the founder, was running the business as an individual on a part-time basis, delivering around 20 classes per month in and around York. Elaine had seen the social benefit of the programme, with many examples where individuals had been able to increase or retain levels of movement and dexterity that had previously been lost, and had been able to demonstrate that it could be viable as a business.

She engaged the Franchise Company to help her develop a franchise system to scale it across the UK.

We created a franchise system for the business from scratch and set up series of franchise pilots in York, Leeds and Wakefield which were successfully operated for 4 years before formally launching the franchise business in 2003.

Motivation & Co is now the market leader within the care sector, with 16 franchisees delivering classes to over 25,000 residents each month throughout the UK.
